Yay, Monday! And freezing mist! (Somebody tell me what the hell freezing mist is.)
I’m taking a moment out of the daily grind to reflect and scarf a chipotle black bean burger from Boogie Burger. (Sorry no photos – it’s already half gone!)
Can’t wait to watch me some Intervention tonight and kick it on the couch! The wisest thing I ever did was make Monday my rest day.
Yesterday I had a pretty awesome trail run. We decided to do the hilliest part of the run first this time around due to some junk we read in Runner’s World. I tried to find it online but after searching for about five seconds I gave up. Basically it said it if you’re a beginner you just do the hills in the latter part of your run and if you’re more advanced, do the hills first. (I think that’s what it said, but I could be totally off – anyone confirm?)
Now. I don’t consider myself advanced by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a different challenge to do all the hills and three flights of steps at the beginning. I don’t know what I expected to gain from it; all it did was make me feel exhausted and irritable for the rest of the run. Usually, Kate’s just a few steps ahead of me, but yesterday she was at least 20 yards up almost the whole time. She still kept trying to have a conversation with me but I was out of earshot and was wheezing too hard to speak anyway. I’m sure there’s a lesson here somewhere but it’s Monday so let’s just let it go.
After running I came home and made almond milk again. (I never learn.)
It was better this time around! It was so much richer and creamier than the last batch –
And I was highly amused by the little face it made in my coffee –
For dinner I made some awesome salmon and veggies. I didn’t do anything crazy – just threw in some fresh rosemary, sea salt and pepper and extra virgin but for some reason it was best the salmon I’ve ever had. I love it when I accidentally rock.
And, some big news that none of you probably care about in the least – I turned in my two week notice today and I’m quittin’ my job! I got a job offer on Friday to go wreck somebody else’s marketing department and I couldn’t refuse.
But all joking aside, it is a great opportunity and I’m both thrilled and scared shitless at the same time. I start in two weeks…
Have a great day folks – peace.
