It has been a spectacular week for me in terms of running and eating…
Tuesday – 5 miles + veggie sandwich
Wednesday – 5 miles + turkey omelette
Thursday – 7 miles + fettucine, goat cheese and merlot
Saturday – 9 miles + breakfast stratta
Sunday – 4 mile fartlek + -for dinner tonight- Charbono’s and a bloody mary.
Good thing I ran — I needed 30 miles just to work off all that good food!
I know a bunch of you people read Healthy Living With Kelly so you probably know she’s posted some great training programs for half and full marathons.
So last night, realizing with a bit o’ panic that there’s only 10 weeks until my half marathon (or 68 days, 17 hours, 46 minutes and 57 seconds if you wanna get technical), I frantically pulled her half-marathon advanced schedule down and slapped it down onto an excel sheet.
I’m going to do my best to stick with it. You might remember several months ago I got a bug in me to do some bleacher runs, but couldn’t find a single track in Indy that wasn’t locked up; well, Kate said the track at Butler University is open, so I’m going to try that for the 400s this week.
The only part of the schedule I’m not so sure about is doing, essentially, two long runs a week. I just don’t know if I can handle a 10 miler mid-week and a long run on Saturday. Realistically those may end up closer to eight or niners for me. I’m not saying I can’t do it…eh, we’ll see.
Okay — bathtime. The man and I are going to see the CRAZIES tonight and then out to dinner! We are suckers for a good zombie movie (or just a decent zombie movie, or even a bad one for that matter). Plus that guy Timothy Olyphant is in it, and he’s HOTTT.
Have a wonderful Sunday –
