Guten morgen,

Had a fantastic 3 miler this morning – but don’t take it from me:

No GU Chomps today — and no barfiness. Holla!

I was trying to break 30:00 – didn’t happen – but I did haul ass for the last .12 or so and actually hit a 6:31 pace. That’s pretty much an all-out sprint for me. And that’s how fast some of you people run all the time?! Incredible. And I hate you.

I was famished and decided to eat lunch at 10 a.m. — leftover tempeh, red quinoa, edamame, yellow peppers, zucchini, broc slaw and lentils, with Sriracha and a glob of hummus as big as your head. I know it looks like garbage but trust me.

That, coupled with the 5 a.m. wake-up call has rendered me groggy and useless. Who’s going to take a nap in the car during lunch hour? THIS GAL.

  1. Oh snaaaaap to those negative splits!! I just scrolled back up to revel in them again. I like the sound of that lunch… and as a specialist in the field of producing “ugly yet tasty food,” it actually looks less like garbage than mine usually do.

  2. Hope the car nap went well. My body isn’t used to this whole exerting extreme energy in the early morning on a regular basis thing yet. Which equals me being sluggish by 3 or 4. I’m trying to figure out how to fix this. If a car nap is the answer, I might have to jump on the bandwagon…
