killer turtles

Last night after not running, I watched a depressing ass movie with TEH HUBZ and drank a Hopsecutioner IPA from our friends at Terrapin Beer.

Thanks to DBR, I have also tasted Terrapin’s Big Hoppy Monster and Rye Pale Ale, and I have a Terrapin Wake ‘n’ Bake Coffee Oatmeal Stout chillin’ in the fridge. I might have it for breakfast tomorrow.

7.2% ABV/78 IBUs; this IPA kills six different kinds of hops, which (DUH) is what earns it the title of Hopsecutioner. It also killed my mouth a little bit. It had kind of a sharp, alcohol burn at first, but after getting some air, it smoothed out a bit. I liked it, but I wasn’t drooling all over it. I’d go for the Rye Pale or Hoppy Monster over this one.

So, for those of you who are keeping score, that’s:

  • Three Terrapin beers, one more to go
  • Beer #3 of beer trade #2
  • Five consecutive days without running
  • And, I’d tell you how many days of consecutive beer-drinking, but I lost count six months ago.

Also, it’s COLD.

  1. I had every intention of doing something tonight after work in terms of running.

Something turned into me changing into pj pants and pulling out my half empty bottle of wine from the refrigerator.

Cold? I have no idea what you’re talking about.

    Seriously. I lost feeling in my toes 2 months ago… don’t feel a thing…

  2. Not sure how I missed this little gem in my inbox. Glad you liked it despite no drool. I personally thought it was on par with the other two you mentioned, but then again. I’m not you. Why Can’t I Be You? Looking forward to what you think about Baker Turtle.

    • I did like it, but that Hoppy Monster was killer. BTW I bought you an Upland TBK and a Moloko Milk Stout today. My collection is almost complete… (mwahahaha…)
