slacking + a love poem

So, yeah…there’s just really nothing going on this week. I seem to be having a severe case of the fuckits; I sit down to write and nothing happens.

Now I know I could show you some superfluous pictures of things or talk about my day.

I could find something to complain about.

I could swipe an idea from somebody else’s blog.

OR I COULD DO A REALLY ELABORATE CONTEST ENTRY FOR SOMETHING I WILL MOST LIKELY NOT EVEN WIN.

Yes? Okey doke.

Shelby is giving away a copy of the book, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, and among the usual tweet-this, like-this options to enter, she also said we can write a poem about it.

Maybe she was being facetious? I don’t really care.

Shelbs, this one’s for you.

Ode to Bread

I dip you in hummus, I drown you in oil,
I toast you to ’til you’re golden brown.
But sometimes I just eat you plain…
to make the beer stay down.

I roll you into pizza dough
and sprinkle you with cheese
I add spinach and mushrooms, with plenty of love
and MOAR BACON, if you please.

Sometimes you’re a crescent roll,
and sometimes you’re a bun…
but no matter what you are, my friend,
eating you is always fun.

The End.

  1. Even when you have nothing to say it seems that if you just start typing random useless words always make themselves feel relevant, at least that’s how it works for me. 🙂
